Their probaby isn't that many like their used to be around in the Philippines. I only saw this one and maybe one or two others the whole month I was there.

i also had a feeling of deja vu (but only on the second floor)

hey did ya know the houses had that kind of style of house so that they could store all their farm stuff and animals below (in the first floor) and since the floor of the second floor is made out of wooden bamboos, they could see clearly if there's someone stealing from them :) my grandparents told me that that was the main purpose for that kind of style XP

hehe i remember our house in the province... it's somewhat like that- but cemented LOL
